Grodno District takes pride in its cultural traditions. Crafts, rites, customs, architectural landmarks make up a thick layer of the historical and cultural heritage.
There are 64 cultural establishments in Grodno District. Among them are 27 clubs (including a car club and a regional center of crafts), 27 libraries, and 10 music and art schools.
Thirteen art companies of the district have been awarded the title of “people’s” and one – the title of the Honored Amateur Collective of the Republic of Belarus.
Every year the region hosts numerous vocal, choir, choreography, theater, folk contests, a competition festival among music students, a contest of creative works among teachers. Among old traditions is the festival “Augustow Canal in the Culture of the Three Nations”, a religious music feast “Friends Fanfares”. The Augustow Canal Invites Friends as well as celebration of national holidays and memorable dates enjoy great popularity in the district.
The Grodno cultural pearl is the Honored Amateur Dance Company of the Republic of Belarus Lyalechki of the Obukhovo Cultural Center. 19 amateur art groups have the title of “people’s” and “exemplary”. The best of them are the Niva song and dance group, Ranitsa pop studio, Galaktika-V exemplary pop dance studio of the Vertelishki Cultural Center, the exemplary brass band of the Porechye music school, the Syabrouki ensemble of veteran workers, the Skidel Cultural Center, Zarechanskiye Krinichki vocal group, Matulina Pesnya folklore theater of the Zhitomlya rural cultural center.
